Lucknow Super Giants rope in Lance Klusener as assistant coach for IPL

Lance Klusener

The Lucknow Super Giants have bolstered their coaching staff for the upcoming IPL season by appointing South African legend Lance Klusener as assistant coach. Klusener joins a team led by head coach Justin Langer and brings a wealth of experience across various leagues and national teams.

Klusener is no stranger to the IPL, having previously served as a coach for the Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals. He also led the Guyana Amazon Warriors to their first-ever CPL title in 2023 and has coaching experience in other leagues like the Bangladesh Premier League and Tamil Nadu Premier League.

Beyond the franchise circuit, Klusener has held head coach roles for the Afghanistan national team and briefly served as a batting coach for both South Africa and Zimbabwe. His successful run with the Durban Super Giants, the LSG’s sister franchise in the SA20 tournament, where they reached the finals, further strengthens his credentials.

This appointment adds another accomplished figure to the Lucknow Super Giants’ coaching staff, potentially giving the team a strategic edge in the upcoming IPL season.
