England Strike Back at 1st day cricket:

In the 1st day test session, England’s bowlers responded magnificently, taking three wickets to halt India’s momentum. The best bowlers were Rehan Ahmed (2/54) and Shoaib Bashir (2/62) who easily removed Rajat Patidar (32), Axar Patel (28), and Kona Bharat (16). But Jaiswal did not back down, and he received helpful assistance from Ravichandran Ashwin (15*) as they completed the remaining overs.

Key Moments of the 1st Day Test cricket:

Jaiswal’s brilliant century, the highlight of the day, kept India’s score ticking throughout.

England captain Joe Root dropped Jaiswal on 78, a missed opportunity that could prove costly.

Partnerships between Jaiswal and other batsmen, especially Patidar and Ashwin, provided crucial stability.

England’s fightback in the final session, restricting India’s scoring rate and picking up key wickets.

The play on day two seems to be rather interesting. India will want to capitalise on their impressive performance, and England will try to limit the hosts’ lead and make early advances. For India, the question of whether Jaiswal can keep up his bravery and make the tail wag will be vital. Conversely, England will require their bowlers to be disciplined and take advantage of any lingering batting weaknesses.

Yashasvi Jaiswal: “It feels very good to score a century, especially in Test cricket. I’m happy that I could contribute to the team’s total. Hopefully, we can build on this and get a good score.”

Joe Root (England Captain): “We need to give credit to Jaiswal, he played beautifully. But we fought back well in the last session and took some important wickets. We’ll be looking to start well tomorrow and put pressure on the Indian batsmen.”
