Cricket History Made: Prakhar Chaturvedi Breakdown the Yuvraj Singh’s 24-Year Record

Prakhar Chaturvedi Breaked Yuvraj Singh's 24-Year Record

Prakhar Chaturvedi was left off, of the  under 19 team that will go to South Africa later this month to defend India’s under-19 world cup title. However, the young player from Karnataka has promised that selectors will be closely monitoring him going forward. The right-hander finished the 885-minute marathon knock with an undefeated 404 to earn the title of highest individual scorer in the Cooch Behar Trophy final.

Prakhar achieved this by surpassing Yuvraj Singh’s 24-year-old score of 358. That Yuvraj innings was observed by a young wicketkeeper called MS Dhoni from behind the stumps! Numerous legends have been uncovered by the Cooch Behar Trophy. Indian cricket supporters will be hopeful that Prakhar joins them.

While Karnataka secured their first-ever Cooch Behar Trophy on Monday at the KSCA Navule stadium in Shivamogga thanks to his innings, Prakhar Chaturvedi’s celebrations were very subdued. He raised his bat and knelt after he hit 300. His celebration of reaching 400 runs was confined to hoisting the bat and staring up at the sky. The child, who is five days away from turning nineteen, enjoys noisy parties. He really believes that his performance should do the talking. It blared volumes on Monday.

In addition to becoming the top scorer in a Cooch Behar Trophy final, Prakhar’s 404 not out is the second-highest score in the tournament’s history, surpassed only by Vijay Zol of Maharashtra’s undefeated 451 against Assam in 2011–12.

Karnataka reacted to Mumbai’s first-inning tally of 380 by scoring a massive 890/8 declared to win the final on the basis of their first innings advantage, led by Prakhar’s smashed 46 fours and three sixers. Prakhar is an all-around player who is renowned for his strong hitting, but this innings was distinguished by talent, perseverance, and effort.

Prakhar did not misstep on a surface that improved for batting after the opening day. He took his time while he was at the crease. He had lunch at 299 on the last day.

After resuming his innings, he reached 300 runs off a single after coolly playing off 19 dot balls. The first 300 runs came off 543 deliveries, but the next 104 runs were quickly added in 95 balls.

His coach at the Padukone-Dravid Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, K Jeshwant, a former captain of Karnataka, stated, “I’m not surprised by his achievement because he is blessed with good technique and backs it with unconditional hard work.” He can easily adjust to various formats and is a good student of the game. He is a strong hitter who can write anything on a blackboard.” Every day, Prakhar travels 100 miles to the academy for training.
